Working with Michelle and Matthew was about translating a feeling they both know by heart.
Italy. Not as a place, but as an experience.
From our very first conversations, it was clear that their favourite way of being together is found somewhere between beautiful surroundings, long dinners, good wine, and the kind of joy that feels effortless rather than planned. They didn’t want a wedding that looked Italian. They wanted one that felt like being in a private villa on the Amalfi Coast. Relaxed, generous, and quietly luxurious.
Every decision we made came back to that feeling.
Their ceremony took place high above Sofia on the rooftop of the Hyatt Regency, with open sky and the city stretching out below. I wanted the space to feel light and elegant, not formal. Clean architecture softened with abundant white flowers and gentle greenery, allowing the view and the moment to speak for themselves. When Michelle walked toward Matthew, everything slowed. The joy between them was calm and real, and it carried through the entire ceremony.
From there, the day flowed naturally. Guests were welcomed with drinks, conversation, and space to enjoy where they were. We built in moments to pause, to breathe, to take it all in, before guiding everyone into the evening celebration.
Inside the ballroom, the atmosphere shifted into something warmer and more intimate. Inspired by Italian dinner parties, the space was styled with soft blush tones, white linens, touches of gold, and restrained greenery. Nothing felt overdone. Everything was chosen to invite people to sit, stay, and enjoy themselves.
Food and wine were central to the experience. Together, we created a menu inspired by Italian cuisine, generous and full of flavour. The wine list was carefully selected to complement each course, encouraging guests to slow down, taste, and savour the evening rather than rush through it. This wasn’t just dinner. It was part of the story.
Entertainment followed the same philosophy. Music moved easily between cultures and moods, building energy without ever forcing it. Bulgarian traditions were woven in naturally, bringing everyone together on the dance floor in moments of shared joy and connection.
As the evening unfolded, the celebration became looser, more relaxed. Conversations grew longer. Laughter carried across the room. And when the fireworks lit up the sky above the city, it wasn’t about spectacle. It was a surprise. A shared moment that belonged to everyone there.
Michelle and Matthew spent the night exactly as they had hoped. Moving between their guests. Dancing. Laughing. Fully present. Nothing felt staged. Nothing felt rushed.
This wedding was not about decoration alone or individual details. It was about creating an experience that touched all the senses. A day that felt generous, joyful, and deeply personal to them.
And that is always my goal. To take what matters most to a couple, and shape it into something they don’t just see, but truly live.
